 Callaway—Kyle Dudley had his third win of the season handed to him Saturday night at Franklin County Speedway, during the Franklin County Homes 300, when Bobby Gillespie of Floyd had a spark plug wire come off.

   Gillespie started on the pole of the 50-lap Late Model Stock feature and lead the first 28-laps, before Dudley got by him on a restart,  after the spin of Buster Carroll of Collinsville in turn two.

“I think it would have been close.” Dudley said. “We were gaining on him (Gillespie).

“We let one get out of the bag tonight”. Gillespie said, after holding off Roger Parish, JR of Vinton for second.

   Wayne Corprew won the 25-lap Mini Stock feature. Point leader Jonathan Hall of Rocky Mount was second. Jason Lumsden finished third.

Other Winners: Jeff Woods-Super U-Car, Mark Overfelt-U-Car, Kyle Sorber-Mini Cup, Clayton Smith-Flat head Ford.

   Racing returns to the speedway Saturday night at 7PM.

 Callaway—Wayne Corprew and Doug Williams of New Castle shared co-feature wins Saturday night at Franklin County Speedway

Corprew won the 25-lap mini Stock feature and Williams won the 25-lapper for the Pure Stock division.

    Corprew won for the third time this season and is undefeated in his stops at the speedway.

David Duncan, JR of Rocky Mount finished second, after being spun late in the race by point leader Jonathan Hall of Rocky Mount. Hall finished third.

     Williams held off a fast closing Teddy Lawless of Stuart, for his first win of the season. Williams had help, when DeWayne Law blew an engine in turn four, with five laps to go, making the track to slick for Lawless to mount much of an attack.

Other Winners: Chris Compton-Super U-Car, Mark Overfelt-U-Car, Doug Watts-Mini Cup.

   The Late Model Stock Cars return to the speedway Saturday night for a 50-lap feature at 7PM.

 Callaway—Kyle Dudley won Twin 35-lap features Monday night at Franklin County Speedway, during the Krispy Kreme Smackdown.

     Dudley came from the rear of the field in both races.  In the first race, Rodney Cook and Dudley spun in turn one, while they were battling for the lead.

 “He came down hard in the corner and I bounced off the curb.” Dudley said. “It was just racing.”

   Dudley spun leader Nathan Wheat of Wirtz midway through the second race and was sent to the rear by speedway officials again. He battled back taking the lead from Kevin Smith of Bassett on a restart, for his second win of the night.

    Wheat finished second, after leading most of the race, till he had an exhaust pipe come loose.  Smith finished third.

“They were hard on me tonight.” Dudley said. “They didn’t want me to get the bonus.” The 2010 Track Champion earned a $600.00 bonus for winning both races.

    Lee Reinhardt of Elmer, NJ finished second in the first race, after battling Dudley for the lead, and taking the lead on a double-file restart. “The car got loose and just went away.” Reinhardt said.

    Dan Martin of Boones Mill finished third in the first race, after being involved in three incidents. He wasn’t as lucky in the second race hitting the inside front straightaway wall on the second lap.

Callaway—Jonathan Hall survived a old fashioned shootout, with Terry Mitchell, in the closing laps of the 35-lap Mini Stock feature Saturday night at Franklin County Speedway, during the Cardinal Rubber & Seal 300.

    Hall and Mitchell got together, in turn four, after a double file restart, with five laps to go.

    Both Rocky Mount drivers restarted the race behind all the cars in the lead lap, but worked their way back to the front, with Hall holding off Mitchell, for his first win of the season.

“He (Mitchell) tried to run me up the track in turn one.” Hall said. “He then brake checked me in turn four, when we go together. He also tried to spin me on the last lap.” Hall added. Mitchell had no comment.

   Micah McSwain of Basset finished third, in his best run of the season.

Jonathan Smith of Rocky Mount was fourth.

   Teddy Lawless of Stuart won the 25-lap Pure Stock race. Division Champion DeWayne Law finished second.

Other Winners: Joe Scarbough, Tony Housman-Super U-Car, Deris Atkinson-U-Car, Hunter Feazell-Mini Cup.

   Racing returns to the speedway for the Memorial Day Weekend with racing on Saturday and Monday nights.

 Callaway—Kelly Kingery was the “unofficial winner” Saturday night at Franklin County Speedway, during the Roanoke Auto Auction 300.

   Kingery had a knock down shoot out with Track Champion Kyle Dudley, at the end of their 50-lap Late Model Stock feature.

    Speedway officials will look at the television tape today to make a final decision.

   Kingery was leading with two laps to go, when Dudley bumped him into the outside wall, and took the lead, on a double file restart.

  Kingery, then spun Dudley in turn two, setting up a green, white, checkered finish. Kingery and Dudley got together again, with Dudley spinning again, down the back straightaway, on the final lap. Kingery then raced back to the checkered flag, to get his third straight win.

  Kingery won the pole, but started the race in the rear, after speedway officials placed him their. The Wirtz driver was sent there again, when he spun Bobby Gillespie of Floyd, early in the race.

“That’s what happens when you put a fast car in the back like that.” Kingery said. “ I gave him (Dudley) what he gave me.” Kingery added.

  “ I can bump and run, with two laps to go.” Dudley said. “That’s racing.”

    Kevin Parker of Basset was second and Kevin Smith of Basset finished third. Dudley finished fifth.

    Wayne Corprew won the 25-lap Mini Stock feature. Jonathan Hall of Rocky Mount was second. Kevin Smith of Collinsville finished third.

 Other Winners: Taylor Ransom-Pure Stock, Tony Housman-Super U-Car, M.G. Gibson-U-Car, Jennifer Chitwood-Mini Cup.

Callaway---Kelly Kingery invited everyone to his “private playpen”, after winning for the second straight week Saturday night at Franklin County Speedway, during the Teresa St. Clair Bail Bonding 300.

   Kingery won the 50-lap Late Model Stock feature, after never being seriously challenged by second place finisher Kevin Smith of Bassett.

“ I told them up at Motor Mile Speedway that I am not Bob Barker { Let’s Make A Deal host), to come on down to my private playpen.” Kingery said. “Their off next week and it’s not going to as easy.” The Wirtz driver added. “Because a lot of them are coming.”

   Bobby Gillespie of Floyd finished third. “We got a bad set of tires tonight.” Gillespie said.

   Kevin Smith of Bassett won the 25-lap Mini Stock race, after leader Jonathan Smith of Rocky Mount blew an engine near halfway.

Rock Mount drivers Jason Lumsden and Dennis Sloan finshed second and third.

Other Winners: Todd Arrington-Super U-Car, Patrick Janney-Super U-Car, Buck Mitchell-Mini Cup, Bill Blair-Flat Head Ford.

Pit Notes: Kelly Kingery and Kevin Smith were both warned by FCS Technical Inspector that their carburetors had been drilled and to change them by next week. Both claimed that they passed at the Bailey’s 300 in Martinsville.

Callaway-Kelly Kingery didn’t get any bonus money Saturday night at Franklin County Speedway, during the Cycle Systems 300, but he got his first win of the season.

   Kingery won the 50-lap Late Model Stock feature, holding off second place finisher Bobby Gillespie of Floyd.

   Track Champion Kyle Dudley finished third, after already missing a $1000.00 bonus, offered by promoter Whitey Taylor, if he could win, during the afternoon at Motormile Speedway and FCS that night. Dudley finished fourth at the Radford track. “ I didn’t have anything for them at either track.” Dudley said.

   “ Bobby was pushing me hard.” Kingery said. “The competition is getting stronger every week.” The Wirtz driver added.

   “That was all I had” Gillespie said, after accidently running into Dudley on pit road, after the race.

    Eddie Young of Penhook finished fourth, after running third most of the night.

    Wayne Corprew of Goodview won the 25-lap Mini Stock race, after Vincent Campbell 14, of Roselawn, was disqualified, in a post race inspection, for an illegal head.

    Campbell’s father Donnie was so upset that he told Taylor, “That he would have a Late Model, the next time he came back to the track.”

   Opening race winner Jonathan Smith of Rocky Mount finished second. Harley Holdren of Vinton was third.

    Issac Lavinder of Glade Hill was a first time winner, taking the 25-lap U-Car feature, after five years of racing.

   Lavinder passed Howard Lebon of Vinton, on the last lap, when Lebon tangling, with the lap car of the promoter’s son, Josh Taylor 12, of Callaway.

Other Winners: Teddy Lawless-Pure Stock, Mark Overfelt-Rookie U-Car, Buck Mitchell-Mini Cup.

Callaway-Dennis Holdren was the big winner, during the Krispy Kreme 300 Sunday night at Franklin County Speedway, which featured the most cars for an opening race of the season.

   Holdren won the 50-lap Late Model Stock feature, holding off Track Champion Kyle Dudley in he closing laps.

   Holdren started on the pole, but traded the lead with Kelly Kingery of Wirtz , until Kingery retired on the 11th lap, when his engine went up in smoke.

  Travis Hurt of Wirtz was third.

   Rob Jones of Trenton, Ohio won the 100-lap feature for the Super Cup touring series. Todd Peck of Glennville, PA was second.
