Story-FCS Race Report #20

 Callaway-Rusty Gaspard of Floyd won the 25-lap Late Model Stock race Saturday night at Franklin County Speedway, by missing the big crash.

   Gaspard was leading, when Eric Bishop of Boones Mill spun, coming out of turn two, on 6th lap and collected the car of Calvin Brooks of Bassett and Andy DeFilipps of Wirtz.  Bishop and DeFilipps were finished for the night.

   It was Gaspard’s second straight win. Brooks returned to finish second.

   Wesley Thomason of Vinton held off Libby Privette15, of Nathalie, to win the 15-lap Mini Stock feature. Thomason now leads Privette, by 15 point, in there season long battle, for the division championship.

    Daniel Givens got the jump on Justin Terry of Vinton, on a restart, to win the 25-lap Pure Stock race.

    In Mini Cup action Dean Johnson of Goochland and Daryl Mason of Glade Hill won the 25-lap features.

Other Winners: Billy Holder, JR.,-Rookie U-Car, Tony Housman-Regular U-Car, Jason Roach-Any Car.

   Racing returns to the speedway Saturday night at 7PM.
